I never thought I would be doing this but I think we might spend our 4th taking a day trip down to Wrightsville for the 4th of July.

Is there a really good place to watch fireworks? Does Wrightsville have a fireworks show? If so, where at and what time?

Thanks!

Check out the Wilmington Star, the local newspaper. You may have to register, but they should have the information you're looking for.

This will be my first 4th of July in Wilmington, but I hear that Southport has a huge festival.

Oh boy are you a brave soul. The 4th of July in Wilmington is a madhouse! If you can find parking at Wrightsville Beach consider yourself extremely lucky. Better get there very early, like at dawn! The fireworks will be in downtown Wilmington at 9 o'clock on the riverfront, they shoot them off over the battleship. I don't think Wrightsville Beach has a fireworks show.

LOL, that's exactly what I was thinking. If you arrive at 7am, you'll get the privilege of feeding the parking meter all day.

I already despise Wrightsville Beach.. but that's another story.
