With the winds subsiding catches have taken off.
Sea mullets have invaded the surf and piers. Other location like the MHD City Turning Basin are equally productive.
Blow fish are in abundance but catches will begin to wane as the beach water temps climb into the mid 60's. The good news is that the bluefish invasion will begin then.
2-5 pound bluefish have been a regular at the Cape Lookout Rock Jetty. Red drum too.
Offshore has shown some very good tuna catches both black and yellowfin. This is good news because the tuna catches have been off for the past 5-6 years.
As long as the winds stay calm catches will continue to get better and better each day.
