After you visit, please post any information and research you find appropriate to someone in a very similar situation as yours. I have not actually been offered the job yet, but reading about the crime stats, lack of things to do, is turning me down a little. Our kids are older, so our concerns are a little different, but still. Thanks

It so disappointing the way some people talk about Greenville. I have lived here for 12 years and we love it here! I came here for college and have lived here ever since. In my 12 years the only time I've been a victim of crime was when my car was broken into (they stole $20) when I was in college at an apartment complex. As long as you stay out of certain areas you most likely will never even realize the crime is here. As for things to do this is not a big city! There are no interstates here, but we are really blessed by what we do have. A huge sports community, theater and arts at the college, live music, farmers market and umbrella market (uptown), close to the beach, a science center with a planetarium in the works, some great local boutiques that I'm usually able to find most of what I need, a nice array of restaurants. We are not Charlotte, but for our size population the selection is decent and growing here. As for schools, we have one entering kindergarten next year who will be in private school. The only public school we would consider in the area is Chicod.
