We are thinking about moving to the coast. Its me my husband and our 5 small children. He currently works for a juvenile prison for the state of Tennessee. We just really need a change. Found some great little towns close to the coast but want to hear from people that live there. How are jobs? He needs pay of at least $12hr. Hows rent? looking to pay $500-$875 a month. Anything else we need to know?

I'd suggest he apply for jobs first and then you can decide where you'll live. Jobs are very hard to come by.

I agree. You should have employment plus plenty of $$$ saved before relocating ANYWHERE in this economy.

True, but even in good times, it's difficult to just pack up and move somewhere. I never thought the economy was good enough to just move somewhere without a job lined up first.

Yeah we packed up and moved to Tennessee with jobs or anything lol. We have been applying through the state. We are going to def have a job first. We also have about $15000.00 I am willing to use out of our savings. As far as rent I have found some really nice places for our budgets.
