I've Googled around and am coming up empty. Is there a public bus or any other form of public transportation that makes the trip from Southport into downtown Wilmington? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I've been reading about the poor public transportation for this state, but was hoping that didn't extend to areas with retirees.

Reason: typo
There is no public transportation between Southport and Wilmington because there is no demand for such a service. The city buses that service Wilmington are barely used as it is. NC doesn't have a poor public transportation system, we simply don't have a high need for public transportation because the most practical and predominate way to travel in NC is by car. Public transportation is for urban areas. NC is mostly suburban and rural.

We have the similar situation in New Jersey but that's mainly because it's run for commuters and not the general public so everyone is forced to drive their cars to go everywhere. If in Wilmington they had transportation to Southport and the beaches do you think people would use it?
