first of all id like to say a hello from dublin ireland
and second of all.. how much ive enjoyed reading some of the posts on here. a very friendly forum.
wilmington in north carolina . its a place ive been looking at for some time . weathers good taxes are low in the state in genrel..
but id like to talk to a few people living in the area and around the genrel coastal areas near it too. the good points and bad points . cheers guys ill have a pint to your health

Hello - I suppose you have read enough about the shortage of good-paying jobs. Another short-coming of my area is the lack of diversity in restaurants and shopping.

Now, if you had the capital to open a good Irish pub, you would be welcome!

is there not a good one there? ive worked in the hotel and pub game for over 10 years .. ive a dream of having an irish/english tea shop there. i paint and make my own jewlery. celtic . id like to tie it in to the shop....
basicly give a euro feel to america . we dont all drink coffee you know hahaha

OK, Wilmington has a couple of Irish pubs. I was speaking of further up the coast, like Surf City. All we get is American food.

I am not sure how well a tea shop would do, as I don't think Americans understand the tea break customs. At 4 o'clock most would rather stop work and have a beer.

But, the Irish jewelry and merchandise might sell.

You should open an Irish pub there as Americans love the Irish and our pubs. You would do well there my friend.

what you describe doesn't sound like much of a moneymaker... but if you could pay the bills doing it, it sounds like you'd fit in fine in downtown wilmington. it's sort of blue-collar eclectic.. doesn't matter where you're from.
