I'm moving to the Greenville area to begin working in about 2 weeks, and have to find a good apartment or townhouse! I have a dog (yellow lab, 80 lbs) and I'm struggling to find a place that is pet friendly. I would prefer an area that does not have students, but understand that there are limited places that allow for an 80 lb dog! Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Most traditional apartment complexes don't allow large dogs, but the townhome communities in Greenville are a mix of renters and owner/occupants. You'll probably have to find properties that are rented out either by individuals or by management companies on behalf of the owner. Try Craigslist. Google Greenville property management companies. I don't know all of them, but some are Keystone, Duffus Realty, and Remco. I'm sure there are others.

Also, look into duplexes. There are a lot of those in Greenville/Winterville. Newer complexes tend to have better tenants than the older when it comes to our townhome communities, with exception to the higher-end ones. Ask here about specific neighborhoods and complexes if you have questions about someplace you find. Good luck!

Where abouts do you want to live? Or if you don't know, where abouts is your job?

Thank you for your help!! I read that the south or east part of Greenville was a better area to live in, so I have been looking there. I will be working at ECU, and don't mind having a longer commute if it means moving to a nicer area. The only apartment complex that I've found were the Keswick Apartments, but I plan to go to Greenville this weekend to look around. I will definitely take a look at the Greenville/Winterville area!

Keswick is near the old Wal Mart in the center of town. It's not a good area.
