Get an Our State magazine and read the article on Morehead City. I liked the article but am curious why the Sanitary was not suggested as a place to eat.

Great article. Sanitary is not as good as it once was IMO. So many great places in MC now. Sammy's is the real deal.

No, not as good as it used to be. I waitressed there back in the day. But I thought still a draw.

I also enjoyed the part about Rodney Kemp. "The lot" he mentioned was on the opposite side of the block from the house I grew up in. My brother played baseball on "the lot, too." Lots of good memories. I'm glad Rodney keeps them alive.

I always thought MC back in the day would have been a neat place to grow up. I still eat at Sanitary but usually at lunch as it is the same portions just much less expensive. Just the nostalgia makes it worth the visit.

The fact that Sanitary was not mentioned is good. That place is grease city. I was sooooo disappointed when we tried to eat there. Even the table was greasy. And for the record, I am hardly the poster child for healthy eating!
