5 cities where wealth is soaring- MSN Money

It was attributed somewhat to highly skilled older workers moving into the area.

I wish that income was soaring, but I just don't see it. This place is pitiful. The demographics don't do this region any favor. It attracts the wrong type of transplants. We need retirees who spend money (like the ones in Wilmington and Southport), not the ones on a tight, fixed budget. Hopefully things will turn around..............

And the comments on that page are very amusing! Lol.

I wouldn't call it 'soaring'. Considering the median income is still below the National average of $51k and the poverty rate is significantly higher than the national average of 15%, I'd still say that New Bern has quite a ways to go. It's great that there has been such a significant improvement, but the title of the article and thread is definitely misleading!

I guess you could also say that number of elected officials attending the funerals of felonious sex offenders that murder police officers is soaring, too. That ain't good!
