Hello All!

I hope everyone's summer is going well! I have vacationed all over the Outer Banks for many years and I absolutely love it. I have never had the luxury to spend an entire summer in a beach area, but now being 26 and having some cash and spare time, I am toying with the idea. Sadly, the realization came to me late and this season is halfway over already, so I would like to ask questions in prep for next year.

1) What months are considered the full summer season in OBX? May-September?

2) As a ballpark value, what should one expect monthly/summer rent to be?

3) I know that a good deal of young foreigners, specifically Eastern Europeans, stay during these months. I imagine that they book housing and jobs months in advance. This being the case, when is the best time to start looking for summer jobs and available living spaces?

I am sure I will think of more as time goes on, but I was thinking about the idea and wanted to start to get some feedback.

Thank you all for reading!

MNG

Where in the OBX?

What kind of work/job are you wanting?

How large a place are you wanting?

Do you want to be ON the beach itself?

Hi Patriot, thanks for the response!

As the details go, I am pretty open to anything and everything, including living locations. It would be just me so I wouldn't need a huge place. For work, I kinda have my own work from anywhere, freelance deal, but I imagine also working at a grocery store, retail, or restaurant. Brew Thru perhaps!

I read through various sources that it is probably wisest to check both Craigslist and the local paper Coastland Times for places to rent for summer. Also that most places open around Easter, so March/April to start looking for housing and jobs. Is this true?

April and May is the time to look, but very very very few seasonal rentals out there. Weekly, yes and Annual (very hard to find, competition is fierce) but almost no seasonals.
