Hi All,

Wondering if there is any kind of burgeoning start-up community in Wilmington and the surrounding areas? We are considering a move and my husband specializes in working for start ups so any advice either way would be appreciated.

We are looking pretty much anywhere in the coastal south (not including florida or the pan handle, only the Atlantic side).

Thanks!

I haven't heard of any start-ups such as software, but there are resources below that you might consult. There are businesses in drug testing, shipping, trucking and nuclear energy. On the whole, Wilmington has a larger population of retirees and students than most areas. I suspect that larger cities would be better for the husband: Charleston, Savannah, and Jacksonville, Florida.

Thank you, Goldenage - we are looking at Charleston and Savannah too so maybe those would be better bets. The main thing that worries me in Savannah though is the violent crime...
