Where? I've had several excellent experiences with BB&T.

Castle & Cooke Mortgage provides industry leading solutions and exceptional customer service in the home loan industry.. I got my mortgage loan through them three years ago and am very satisfied. Their website indicates that while they do not have a regional office in NC, they are Licensed for your state. Check it out. I am not affiliated with any mortgage co. Just a satisfied home owner. Good luck!

BB&T provided our building loan and converted to mortgage. Totally painless and transparent.

If you live in Brunswick County, try Corning Credit Union in Leland near the Harris Teeter store. CCC also has offices in Wilmington. I believe membership is available to anyone living in Brunswick County. It was the best mortgage experience I have ever had and they have very good rates/low fees. Since it is a very large credit union (assets of a billion dollars with offices in NC, PA and NY) they handle construction and home loans.

CCC's web site has a mortgage center page that gives you very detailed information.
