My husband was recently approved to receive Veteran's Administration medical care. There is a new CBOC clinic in Jacksonville, NC, and I wonder if anyone has experience with it. The news story from 2015 says there is over a 30-day wait to get an appointment. Is that still true?

Have heard some horror stories with the VA clinics. There are one's in Wilmington near the Airport in Greenville near the Hospital as well. Would think they would have a lesser wait because they are not in military towns.

We'll see. The new one in Jacksonville opened 4 months ago, and it has 28 waiting rooms. I don't know what their staffing level is. The hubby just needs primary care to renew prescriptions.

Try Wilmington first, my daughter works there (nurse) and it seems to be very well run and very organized (depending on where you live)

Thanks. We are a lot closer to the Jacksonville VA facility, and he want to try it. My husband has been going to the Wilmington Health facility in Sneads Ferry, and has never seen an MD. It would be nice to have a visit with a real MD or DO, as opposed to an NP or PA.
