The only reference I have found to that is here:

New Harris Teeter held ribbon cutting this morning. New Bern now home to the largest HT on the planet (97,000 square feet).

I just got home from shopping at the New Harris Teeter. All I can say is wow..........that place is AMAZING!

There's a Starbucks, Smoothie/Juice Bar, Hot Foot Bar, Cold Food/Salad Bar, Sushi Bar, Hot Asian Food Bar, Burger Bar, Chicken Wing Bar, etc. Too many bars to count! They had a Wednesday Lobster plate special where you could get a whole steamed lobster, corn, and baked potato for $11.99. Tomorrow night they'll have prime rib plates.

That place was packed, it was a mad house, and the parking lot was full. Unsure of why they'd built a grocery store of such magnitude in New Bern of all places. It really doesn't make any sense to me. But what do I know, right?!

My husband told me those retailers will eventually be built in front of the shopping center adjacent to the BB&T and Harris Teeter gas station. He's unsure of a time frame--said it will be a while since they haven't broken ground yet.

I have got to go to pick up some Rx Meds this afternoon. Hope it has settled down. In case anyone else uses HT pharmacy, they have a new phone number (which I don't have handy, sorry)
