I was wondering if anyone could tell me if smoking is allowed on Carolina Beach. I have a group of 7 looking to book a trip this summer, but one is a smoker. I'm having a hard time getting any information on Carolina Beach, but see Wrightsville Beach looks to be a NO Smoking beach. Thanks for your help.

The Town has a link on their website for "Beach Rules", but it isn't working. Your best bet is just to call the Town and ask.

Looks like there's a link here to the town's ordinances. "No smoking on the beach strand" is covered in the section below.

CB passed the ordinance, but it required the state General Assembly approving enabling legislation in order to make the ban valid. I'm not sure the state ever did that.

I have seen many people smoking on the beach, annoying to me but apparently not against the rules.

If you do, legal or not, PLEASEEE take the butts with you when you leave. Leaving butts is just as bad as leaving plastic or toys.

Thank you for the information. I totally agree about the butts. There is only one person in our party that smokes and she is sure to dispose of them properly. Again, thanks for the info! I can't wait to visit Carolina Beach!
