I'm a dentist thinking of opening a practice in North Brunswick Co. All the demographics look like the place is booming...for those with "feet on the ground" how is the medical service environment there?

judging from the dental hygiene of some of the locals, you might not be too successful. with that stereotypical joke out of the way, leland is growing. there are plans of a town center opening up soon. they are also building brunswick counties first harris teeter and I am sure that with that, will come a strip mall and an opportunity to open up a practice.

Default Yes, but

Know the commercial market there is very tasteful and well planned.

I'm looking for more of a subjective view from someone there, something the numbers don't tell me--are these newbies all retirees, families, commuters, well-heeled, down and out, etc. etc.

all I can really suggest is searching how many are currently there. you must realize that of all the "growth" in brunswick county, it's all pretty much happening in one section of leland. there are quite a few subdivisions there and young families moving there quickly.

May want to consider carefully. A co-workers wife started working for a new practice some months back as an assistant in Leland. I don't think she is getting many clients...at least to this point. Will try to find out more. Have also heard there is little demand for dental assistants...could be a reflection of the growth or lack therof the industry.

Yeah, that'd be interesting. Contrary to what I've heard. Dentists only work if there is growth OR a lack of dentists. Leland seems to have both. But mouths without money doesn't work for anyone.
