You can deduce much information from the C-D profile, here: https://www.city-data.com/city/Hertfo...-Carolina.html

As you see, the center of Hertford is very small and low-income. Outside of the center, it is a little more affluent, particularly the waterfront areas. In addition, the Albemarle Plantation is an affluent community surrounding a golf course.

What are you most concerned about moving there? Safety, schools, things to do??

The C-D profile shows the most recent crime index as about average. I don't have experience visiting Hertford, so I will let others comment.

In such a small town, there will not be the resources of a large city. There are plenty of options for outdoor activities like sailing and fishing. The Outer Banks will have good beaches, surfing, hang gliding, etc, as well as good restaurants. There is the golf course at Albemarle Plantation, and probably tennis courts.

For major entertainment and shopping, you can go to Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia.
