The Compass Pointe website mentions Village Shoppes as "planned future" and "coming soon". But I can't find any information on when the Village Shoppes will be built, where in Compass Pointe they will be built, how large the complex will be, and what business are planned (supermarket, hardware store, restaurants, etc.). Any insights?

I don't know the answer, but Compass Pointe certainly needs some nearby shopping. There is a large stretch of forest along the main entrance road to the development, and bordering Hwy 74/76.

The village Shops will be built at the West Gate. There is currently an independent living facility under construction and framed. Retail shops they’ve started doing work on, all the land is cleared and there’s piping all in the ground.

Of course with the pandemic the timing of getting these rented is uncertain but I would say in a year from now they’ll be some shops there but what kind of shops is depending on who decides to rent. I would not expect a large grocery store Or anything I’m thinking smaller retail locations or service oriented places but it’s completely unknown at this time but suspect they’ll be a lot more known in a year.

There is a beauty salon (already open) and a "bottle shop" that has been announced and is under development. No news on any of the other shops. RIght now and in the near future there will be extensive building and development going on between 74 entrance to compass pointe and the compass pointe gate. Acres of trees have already been cut down and it is expected there will be 60 or so townhomes and two apartments buildings with pool and rec center between the highway and compass pointe gate. None of them will be part of Compass Pointe...the existsing Senior home complex is not part of Compass pOinte either....

Currently (as of June 25 2023) there is a beauty salon and a "bottle shop" called ScapeGoat is under construction (according to the sign will be opening at some point).....the other remaining shoppes have "for lease" signs.

There is major construction going on at the west gate at this time......large area has been deforested and two apartment buildings, a pool, a community center and approx 40-60 townhouses are planned for the approx one mile two lane road between Route 74 West and the Compass Pointe gate. Currently there is also a 100 unit senior living home and parking area....none of these will be part of Compass Pointe nor will they have access to the amenities. The East Gate is the ONLY other egress to/from Compass Pointe and does not allow construction traffic.

The West Gate road is expected to be highly trafficked with construction work for the foreseeable future and then with the new non Compass Pointe residents PLUS the ever expanding western area of Compass Pointe. Within the last month a number of acres have been deforested off the Timber(less) Ridge neighborhood stub roads....prob enough for several hundred lots. Expect those lots in the newly deforested "North Ridge" neighborhood to be sold soon. There is still at least one "stub" road in Timber Ridge.....on the eastern portion of Compass Pointe bordering the highway exit a number of lots have been platted along Cardinal Lake area and there is speculation that the current RV/boat parking lot may be repurposed for residential use as well.

Hope this info helps.

In addition to the 100 unit senior apartments there are plans for garden apartments and townhouses. There will be a total of almost 500 units including the senior apartment building.

This was a revision of the Compass Pointe plans approved by Brunswick County in 2015. It was shown as future development in the brochure given to all prospective purchasers.

It was explained to me that the North Ridge Development area of 85 homesites is the "last" to be sectioned for building within CP. Just sayin'

I certainly hope that the North Ridge development is the last area to be built.....however, there is one "stub" road into the forest from Timber Ridge that ????? and the two stub roads that have been recently deforested and have become North Ridge look like a lot more than 85 lots....but experience (personal and from from others) has shown that the salespeople will tell you what you want to hear......we were told that the setback requirements meant that the home next door would not eclipse our view of the pond, but we now look out at a garage....go figure....the contract and voluminous Compass Pointe county filings and amendments etc are where the real info is.....just the convoluted ownership structure in the original master plans is almost impossible to follow.....and as each new neighborhood is added, the plan is updated and percentages adjusted for the extra lots/homes etc....but the gist of it is the homeowners have NO say in anything until certificates of occupancy hit 80 percent of the total buildout (which was represented to us by the salespeople in 2018 as 2,000 to 2,200 total units) or 2065 - which ever comes first.

Also, lots along Cardinal Lake backing to the highway are being staked out and sold right now and the RV parking lot adjacent to those lots is being considered for development as well.
