I grew up about 10 miles from Stella. It's true that it's not a "town" at all really. You might as well live anywhere in the rural area there. My parents have a 3 br. house on 10 acres they will sell you for $100k! It's true that the river is there, but the beautiful wooden bridge had been replaced by an ugly concrete mess last time I was there. I remember that mosquitoes were particularly bad when fishing down there as a child. No city anti-mosquito spraying.

Default Love RiverOaks

Stella consists of beautiful homes on both sides of the White Oak River. It runs from Stella road down Belgrade-Swansboro road to hwy. 24. We have lived in River Oaks Plantation for 20 years and each time we look for anyplace else to live we come home thanking God for letting us find this wonderful place in River Oaks with a sunset from our front porch every night. Yes, the pictures that the sick Richard has posted are actually here, but you have to search for them. They are not in River Oaks. He must be a very unhappy man to see this community from those eyes. These few are rapidly disappearing and being replaced by new two story homes that are selling well. We are not part of a large city or town thank Goodness. We live in peace and without crime in a wonderful community on the White Oak River. We have lots for sale where you can build your home of choice. Friendly neighbors and a community dock and 300 ft pier. Good for fishing and the river is connected to the Intercoastal Waterway. Come and join us, you will love it. 18 minutes via backroads to Jacksonville malls, Walmart, Sams and many many restaurants. Hey Richard, the road that brought you here goes in the other direction if you are so unhappy here take it please.

Hey Wi11iedigital. We have mosquito spraying regularly and have no problem with them at all in River Oaks Plantation. We can sit on our open porch and watch the sunset all year without trouble from mosquitos. Times have changed all over. We have seen deer swimming across the river to River Oaks, catch shrimp off of the pier, have our own boat slips, trout is so plentiful the boats this time of year are bumper to bumper up river. We see dolphins playing off the end of our pier, an occasional alligator, wonderful and different birds all year long changing with the weather. The Stella bridge is a wonderful safe bridge that you don't have to worry about when you cross it as the old once was so bad I was sure that would be my place of demise. There is no "town" of Stella, only a community. The old community consists of friendly families that have lived here forever, the new community is mostly retirees from all over. River Oaks is a small community of mixed families, some with small children, some retirees and mostly working people from the two Marine bases in the area. We have men with doctorates, two Psychologists, retired university professor, retired managers from industry, retired detective from New York, a truly diverse population. Even the old and falling down you see in the pictures are not bad, just old and falling down. Soon to be forgotten.

You call me sick because all I speak is the truth. You can fairy tale over that hole all you want but in the end, you got nothing there and never will.

And if driving down one or two roads (one of them being right through the middle of the "town") is searching then I am guilty of having searched for 30 seconds.

You sound like a very unhappy man. If you had been happy in MD you would have stayed there. Sounds like you would not be happy anywhere. Don't stay if it doesn't suit you. Life is short, find some happiness.

I'm perfectly happy and fine right where I'm at. Thank God it's not Stella.

I have difficulty with the fact that someone else may have a differing opinion from most of you and it's freaking you people out. Get a life. Not everybody wants to live in the boon docks and drive for a half hour to buy a cup of coffee. Some people expect more out of their communities. ALL I ever posted were the unglossed over facts. That's why NONE of my posts have been removed.

But instead of allowing me to have my opinion you all chose to attack me.
