In retrospect I was a little bit harsh on Carolina Beach. My first few impressions weren't good, but it's grown on me a lot. Money just doesn't go far at any beach, so you have to be prepared to spend in order to find a decent place there. That was the main problem I had - the places I could afford were just dumps.

I am a single 35 yo woman moving to Wilmington at the end of January. I saw downtown when I was there on the interview and found a place on Walnut near Front Street. Any thoughts on whether this is a safe place? My other alternative would be Mayfaire but really liked being close to things. Any help would be appreciated!
