Recently the governor of Virginia signed into law a legislation bill aimed to improve job opportunities for college graduates:

"The objective is to provide 100,000 more college degrees over the next 15 years. The governor says the legislation, passed with overwhelming bi-partisan support, will increase capacity at public and private colleges and universities, increase graduation and transfer rates, and provide more financial aid to students."

I applaud the state of Virginia for initiating this reform rather than waiting for the U.S. Department of Education to help them. Although, I suspect that the U.S. DoED is involved in some fashion. It is my hope that the state of Virgnia allows its college bound students to take advantage of this new financial aid to attend a for-profit institution if they choose to pursuse a degree not offered at a cc.
