I know of quite a number of schools and universities in the Central/Texas and East Coast but don't know of anything in the Rocky's, Southwest or Pacific Northwest really in the private area.
Are there any good schools in these areas in the same league as say Tulane, Tufts, Notre Dame, Brandeis that I may have just not heard of before.
Brigham Young-Utah campus has some really good programs, though you've got to be either LDS or a non-LDS recruited student-athlete to be admitted as an undergrad.
California- Stanford, USC, Cal Tech, the Claremont consortium of colleges The Claremont Colleges

Are you absolutely sure about the bolded part? I know there are non-LDS students on campus who are not athletes. I don't know if they're undergrads or not, though. They would definitely have to agree to the LDS Church's honor code in order to be admitted.
Stanford, Cal Tech, and the Claremont consortium are probably the best (Pomona being the best of the consortium). Also worth looking at: Reed, Harvey Mudd, Whitman.

This ^^, and also USC. UC - Berkley is as well regarded as the East Coast public "Ivies" like UVA and UNC.
Ya I know Caltech, USC and Stanford. Those are all in my opinion much higher level then Tulane, Tufts, Brandeis or Notre Dame.... they're more like MIT, Princeton, Harvard and Yale.
Thanks for those others ones I had not heard of Claremont Consortium, Reed or Whitman. Unfortunately I'm looking for graduate and of the few graduate programs in these schools none have the degree I'm looking for. Still nice to know there's more out there.
I'm not quite sure why Berkley was mentioned as its a public school??

Because it is! It's official name is the University of Calfornia at Berkeley. It's also known as Cal-Berkeley.
The west coast has a lot of small, private colleges. The mountain west, not so much. In Colorado, we have the University of Denver, Colorado College, and a few small Christian colleges. (DU is historically Methodist and has a Methodist seminary.)

Caltech and Stanford yes
Notre Dame is well ahead of USC though and should not quite be put in the same class, ND belongs with schools like Rice or Brown.
USC probably does have a better name than Tufts and Tulane should not really even be included on this list.
