I'm not talking about a general curve but a personal favor, if you will. It happened to me once. I'm not sure what I would have gotten, but I'm thinking it must have been about 1 grade below the grade the professor posted. She knew I needed the grade, though. I've heard some professors don't like failing students and will give a student who tries at least a C, but I think this is rare.
yes. it was about a year ago and it was a physics class. i didn't do so well on the first exam. i tried to do better by paying for a private tutor. i received an email from her shortly after the semester ended and said that although my test scores were slowly improving, i failed my final. so what she did was instead of giving me a F, she gave me a D.
Yep, from an B+ to an A-. I was about .5% off from the A-, and the professor pretty much said since I attended his class and spent time helping the students that were really struggling he bumped me up a hair. Really nice guy and a good teacher.

That was very nice of her. A D is'nt a great grade, but you don't have to retake it and save a lot of money. Surprised she even emailed you this.
