If you do well in a community college, you can transfer to a top university. I've known people who have done it. You've got to get really good grades. But its possible.

I have not read the whole thread, but only the first page. OP, I do not understand how your first and second posts even go together. It seems as though you are questioning why people think CC is a bad thing, because either you do not know, or you do not agree.

Then in your second post you degrade the people there.

Community College is a great place to get started. Just as other people have mentioned, it is a less expensive way to get your college career started, finding out if college is even for you.

The classes cost roughly a third of the cost of a 4-year college, per credit hour. Do I think there are some ghetto people in community college? Absolutely. There are ghetto people wherever you go.

Why did you get the bad grades in HS? Not paying attention or just not doing well? (sorry if that is covered elsewhere)

One bad thing in my own experience about CC is the young people who are there oftentimes think of it as an extension of high school where you can play and goof off. It isn't, and I feel the people who behave that way in class should be removed for the benefit of the people there to learn.
