Just a high school student trying to discover his future college major! In fact, perhaps I'm spending too much time into research and looking into others' opinions. Hmm...
Anyways, I've looked at several areas of study, but, unfortunately, they're all useless. (Anthropology, International Studies, Psychology, Linguistics, and, last, and unfortunately, probably least, Journalism.)
Currently, I'm thinking of majoring in Business Administrations with a concentration in Marketing and minors in French and German.
Would this be good a plan? I'm obsessed with Europe, my mother was born in Finland, therefore, I'm entitled to EU citizenship. Definitely see myself living in overseas for a significant period of time. However, am I making a safe decision with my current decided major?

Your opinions would be GREATLY appreciated!
Hello, EpicBacon, is there an s on Business Administration? It looks wrong to me. Also, there is no such word as anyways. It is anyway, no matter where it is used. Never plural.
I am only writing because you are college bound and need to know this.
I think you have a pretty good plan. If you are interested in business and foreign language see if there is an international business option. You might also see if the French or German departments at a potential university have commerce options. As far as those useless majors you can always get a minor in one of them.
Linguistics isn't useless if you get a Masters degree -- speech therapy is a great paying, high-demand field... (As well as physical therapy and occupational therapy)

What type of work are you looking to do?
Linguistics is not a usual pathway to Speech Therapy. That pathway is normally a BS in Speech-Language Pathology followed by a Master's in the same. Or Audiology.
Agreed, but in areas where a BS in SLP or Communication Disorders isn't offered usually they will major in English or Linguistics... However, you can have an undergrad in anything and just spend 3 years in a SLP grad program.

I would try to attend a college that is study abroad-focused. Usually while in US university, you study abroad your junior year, acquiring credits towards your bachelors.
I think business administration is a marketable major and then a minor in a foreign language may be helpful. French is a bit more useful than German when seeking jobs later on. French is spoken in more countries than German is, while German is limited primarily to central Europe.

True, I just assumed that anyone seriously interested in becoming an SLP would want to avoid the extra time leveling in Grad school. Plus, SLP grad school programs are really difficult to get into, from all the research I have done, and I am not sure but I would assume that it is a bit easier if the undergrad degree is SLP or Communication Disorders.
If you are going to end up having to take leveling courses anyway, psychology is an acceptable and relevant undergrad degree for SLP.

Yes, I am well aware of this. Unfortunately, I had the audacity to make....... a typo!
I sincerely hope that this error won't require that I live in a box for the rest of my life.
