You're right, being late in the business world is inappropriate, but it's also why some of us are late to class.

you should do this:

take attendence for maybe a few weeks straight, then stop and then randomly take another week or two to see who is still there. if they miss say more than 3 classes, or are late often (2 or 3 lates=1 miss) they dont get extra credit points that would be added at the end of the semester.

make sure they initial their name on the roster, that way the tardees cant do it.

i think depending on the level of this course, you will find the freshmen or sophmores who are slacking.
