Bachelors in English with a certification to teach secondary education.

My first job was running an urban youth outreach program, developing a tutoring and mentoring program in inner city Chicago.

BA in English with minors in Creative Writing and Media Studies.
1st job, call center customer service stuff. Stayed about 8 months...7 months too long.
Went back to waiting tables for a few months, then got a job selling ad space for a community newspaper. This job led to a media assistant job at an ad agency, which led to a promotion within the agency for a media buyer position. I now work for a different ad agency as a media planner.

I will soon have an AAS degree in Air Traffic Control so I can do something totally unrelated to my original career path.

B.A. in Russian History with an emphasis on the early Soviet period, minor in Economics with a focus on emerging market economies post-socialism. I plan to go back for my MA and PhD in the next couple years.

First job after graduation was/is as a freelance programmer in CSS, JS, and PHP. It has nothing to do with school (I'm self-taught) but it's fun. History has become my side project for now.
