I'm only paying for books, everything else is covered. I also have a job at a fast-food place to save my money for other necessities like car insurance and what-not. I also *had* a plan before I went to college, but I lost interest in it.
If you have tuition covered then I agree you should take core classes for now, and try to squeeze in an elective based in a major, like taking a biology class. That will allow you to explore your interests, but also make sure that your major will be something marketable after graduation.
I didn't find biology all that math heavy, not like physics. Sure, there is stats, etc. but it is handle-able.
True. I think statistics is going to be your most math-heavy class in most places. I almost switched my major to organic chemistry until I learned that they would make me take differential equations.
She is not going to be able to major in music not being able to play an instrument now....
the one thing for sure is she has to try out music classes first. If she has a talent and can quickly pick up an instrument she can still be a singer, composer, or musicologist.
