Funny story:

I was out with 4 couples, all of which were lawyers (I am not, but I got into law school). The woman I knew the best went undergrad to a great public University but continued on to a very average law school. She has had a decent career. She was sizing up another female lawyer and asked where she went to school: same school undergrad and then Cambridge for law school.............I got it: Cambridge = Harvard without saying the H word. My friend didn't get it, so kept on with the line of questioning until she finally said "Harvard"

Conversation was over at that point............ My friend quickly changed the subject.

Isn't that funny! I've lived in a Boston's suburb so I'm familiar with Cambridge MA. Still, I would have assumed that Cambridge = Cambridge University, England. Of course, it won't make sense as US/UK laws are different.

Agree. If someone says they went to Cambridge, I'm going to associate that with university in England called Cambridge. I don't know why the person didn't just say "Harvard" to start with rather than drag it out.
