What is your research question and what is your methodology?
They (the major profesor) will nitpick the first part of your writing. But be patient and do what he/she tells you to, because once they've beat up the first section, the rest goes rather quickly !
Oh, and a couple of other things:
(1) I ended up graduating a semester later, because I didn't defend until the very end of the semester. Since I had a job lined up, I had to furnish all kinds of silly paperwork proving I had finished my coursework. But that's the way the process works, and it's best to keep your humors about it
(2) Whom you pick on your committee is important. Example: one of the members (who was a harda**) was buddies with my major professor, so he was pretty quiet during my defense. And a third member who DID ask hard questions was shouted down by the major prof and his buddy.

your university will have a thesis format which they want you to follow. Find professors in your field and go borrow a thesis from them. This is what I did, and had very little trouble formatting and presenting my work.
they should also have guidelines online somewhere as well.

Hi! I am writing (rather I am supposed to be writing) my MA thesis this summer, right now. In fact, I need to complete at least 75% of it (including the research) by Sept. 1 in order to graduate this December. I am having motivation issues, as well as a general feeling of anxiety; I am VERY overwhelmed. I figure there must be other people out there on this forum in the same boat, or people who have been in the same boat, so I am hoping this can be a daily or weekly thread for motivation, tips, it's going to be okay, etc., similar to the daily exercise thread I post to on here (under Health and Wellnes). Any takers?
