I'm not a huge sushi fan but I've eaten some at a place called Ai next to the Cinemark 16 theater on Powers and I think it was good, and it had some other options if you've got people with you who don't want sushi. There's also a place in the Safeway shopping center at S. Academy/115(Nevada) that I've heard good things about - but I can't recall what it is called.

I really like the Ai Sushi on 4655 Centennial (behind Marigolds - another great place to eat). I don't think its associated with the one on Powers.

I'm gonna have to mention Tokyo Joe's again after eating there for a second time. We first tried it up in Denver and thought it wasn't too bad. They just opened one on Academy (same shopping center as Jason's Deli and the Veda Salon) and the one in University Village on Nevada is due to open in July. They're a local chain, started in Denver. Food is healthier than your average fast food and it's pretty good. Wife got some veggie rolls and I thought they were better than a lot of rolls I've had. (not a huge fan of them to begin with, so the fact they were decent to me was nice) I like the noodle bowls myself. You can build your own or try one of theirs. Prices are fair as well, in line with Chipotle or Panera and the likes.

I second Tokyo Joe's! I like the 'build your own' rice bowls.

I just moved the prior 5 postings into this Sushi thread from another thread.

Kura Sushi is in the Albertson's shopping center at Research and Union in the Briargate area and seems to be well regarded.

Another Sushi place is a mile away in the King Soopers shopping center at Union and Briargate that opened recently. FWIW: Even the King Soopers has a Sushi bar operation in-house, near the deli counter.

Jun is very good. One location on Centennial, and another on North Academy, near Dublin. [Full disclosure -- I've only been to the Academy location, but I'm told the Centennial location is even better.] I also enjoy Tomo Sushi, on Academy at Galley. Not as fancy as Jun, but good Sushi, and a nice selection of Bento Box dinners.

Good luck.

We went to Tako in the Academy and Dublin area, it was fantastic! The staff is terrific and the food was very good.

Default Another food question: Sushi

Native Californian here, so a bit of a sushi snob I guess. Spoiled. Been all over the west coast eating sushi, and then florida, chicago, new york, atlanta, baltimore, etc... and the sushi isn't really good anywhere (except for Florida it was pretty decent). I've been living in the south (Georgia) for the last 3 years and Im really hoping that when we move to Colorado we will find some decent sushi.

Is there good sushi in Colorado Springs? If not, anything to brag about up in Denver?

My wife is flying out to Colorado Springs to visit this week and scope the place out. She asked me if I knew of any place to grab sushi out there.

My favorite is Ai Sushi on Centennial (not to be confused with the one on Powers). Ai Sushi & Grill Inc: Colorado Springs, CO
