This may sound like a silly question, but from some of the posts I have read, it seems like people say that Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs somehow merge into each other.

I have one gotten to Manitou by driving that highway that takes you to the Cave of the Winds and the Cliff Dwellings. Is there another small, side road?? I actually detest highways, and would prefer being in an area that merged into Manitou without a super highway. If I look on the Colorado Springs street map, what streets would be considered boundaries to Manitou Springs? Or are there no merging of the two towns?

If there is no other way between the two except a highway, I might prefer to stay in the Old Colorado City just because it's still accessible to things in CS. But if it were possible to live on the Manitou side but still bump up against Old Colorado City, that would be preferable.

Sorry to sound like a dolt, but I had not heard of how one could walk between the two cities. Thanks.

Colorado Avenue is the main street through Old Colorado City. It runs parallel to, and very slightly North of Highway 24. As it runs under the archway welcoming you to Manitou Springs, the name changes to Manitou Avenue, which is the main street through Manitou. You can walk from one to the other very easily, but it's not a short walk. I'd guess about two miles.
