My wife, my son, and I are reeeallly wanting to move out to the Springs. We have visited several times and really love everything about it. We will be moving from small town Kansas, and the Manitou area is appealing to us.

We are looking for a reasonably priced 2 br apartment or house($500-$650 range). Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I am a Dish Network tech here and I plan on continuing the same career out there. Do any of you guys know any Dish techs that I could get in touch with?

My wife is a CNA/CMA and is looking for a solid hospital or nursing home position. Anyone in the medical field have any suggestions on the best place for her?

Thanks in advance!

The price range you gave is rather low for this area. Reasonably priced here is more in the $800-1000 range for two bedrooms. I think you could find an apartment, but not a house, and you will have to look for awhile for the apartment and will want to make sure it is well-maintained and safe. There are apartments in your price range, but I don't know if they're in Manitou, and they are usually located in more transient areas and would not likely have amenities like washer/dryer hook-ups, for example. Manitou is small so your choices may be few - maybe a sublet basement apartment or something like that.

That price range in Manitou?! AHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!

Ok, all kidding aside, you're gonna have a hard time finding what you're looking for ANYWHERE in COS, let alone manitou. Plan on spending about $900-$1000 for what you want, in that neck of the woods.

The new apartment complex going up at Woodmen and Union have rents starting at $899 for a 1 bedroom unit. I think the era of cheap rents is over.

Default Check out Craigslist for COS for apt and rentals

There are 2 bedrooms in that price range and nice ones from the pic's - go onto Craigslist and type in Manitou Springs you will see a few in that price range. I know, I am looking too - my problem is I have a dog. Good luck to you!

I lived in a beautiful 1br place in manitou for 500, but you may be able to find ones for around 395 or so. Just be sure it's safe. Manitou is very safe in general but there are some people around the area doing crazy drugs and stuff and if any of them are a bit crazed on that stuff you don't want them as housemates ...so It's safe as long as they aren't setting up a meth lab or something if they're your housemate lol..the time I lived there was very safe...the worst i did see was people getting pulled over by the cops in manitou and west COS and getting handcuffed for amphetamine possession

My understanding is that west COSprings and manitou are the more desirable places...there is also Briargate which is upscale and expensive...Manitou is beautiful...it has a reputation for being weird in a good way and hippie'ish, as opposed to COsprings people who may be on the conservative fundamentalist side of things. I spent all my time in manitou and west COS so I didn't see much of the conservative vibe of co springs really other than seeing Focus on Famiy place or whatevrr it is off the highway. I know that CO springs always votes Republican though

I had a few interesting (def bit weird but cool) neighbors in Manitou who seemed a bit out of it but were really nice and chill. The people there were very down to earth. I did meet a person or two who described themselves as Wiccan faith, which is unusual based on where im from but they were all very nice people.
