Thanks for fixing the post Mike! And thanks to all for the positive responses. It's nice to hear confirmatin from others that I've made a good decision.

I drove to Kearney Nebraska last night (10-1/2) hours before I gave up and had to get some rest. Havent slept much ithe past week while this has been going on. Plus my ears were sore from the "classic 70's" CD's Blasting from my stereo. HAHA Unfortunately, there is a basketball tournament in Kearney and I had a tough time finding a hotel room, but....found one. I just bit the bullet and paid the $109.00 dollars. Ouch! Oh well, I'll save that much in bug repellant this summer and fall in Colorado. See......always a silver lining.
Time to shower and hit the road again. Should be to Monument in about 6 hours!

Congratulations AdiosDuluth on taking the plunge. So many people that we know shook their heads, at us moving across the country when we made the move, but if truth be known, they probably long to have the determination to do what folks like us do. Enacting change in our lives that, many times bring good fortune to us, and our families, along with new friends, and adventures. But, if one never tries, in life, then an opportunity, or event may never be realized. Life is for living! By the way, great post. Best of luck on your new adventure.

Congratulations on making the best decision of your life! My husband, three boys and I did the same thing in 2008. We even left behind a family run business that my husband continues to telecommute back to every 2-3 weeks just to get the quality of life afforded to us in Colorado. Good luck to you and your family!

What a great thread! Congrats AdiosDuluth. I moved here 3.5 years ago from humid mosquito laden MO and love it.

Best of luck to you, and please keep us posted.

Day 25 of what has been quite an adventure already! I love it here. I'm enjoying my new job and have already met a bunch of great people. Still without my family as we WAIT for the stupid bank in Minnesota to get their job done. So I'm also not living in my monument home yet either since we must close on both homes the same day ...... If it wasn't for all the fun, wonderful people and great weather I'd really be torked off! But...it looks like we can close on August 7th so it won't be long and everything we planned for should come together and I will be with my beautiful wife and two great kids again soon! I've met a group of four guys who in invited me already to join their hunting gang. Though.....they know I won't be able to hunt for a while as a resident and I've already been designated as "camp cook" which suits me just fine. Haha. The people of Colorado are friendly and most seem genuinely happy and many have offered help with anything they can do to help out this new guy from Minnesota. So far, I've chosen O' Malleys in Palmer lake as my favorite place to relax with a cold beer. I'm sitting here as I write this and loving every minute of it. Monument/Palmer Lake is a great area. My job has taken me to the Springs, Pueblo, Denver and I just got back today from an overnight in Grand Junction. My eyes are sore from the incredible scenery of the drive west on 70 to get there. I'll say it again.....I LOVE IT HERE! I'd attach pictures but those of you who have seen the beauty of the mountains KNOW that pictures can't do it justice. Next stop on my tour of this great state- Durango! Here's to all of you who love it here! ( He types and raises a cool beer to his lips )

WHAT A LIFE!!!

If you REALLY want to see some scenery, ride the Durango & Silverton train while in Durango, allot a full day for this, you WILL be stunned by what you see. Pay extra for the parlor car on the rear of the train and stand outside on the back platform, you'll swear you've gone back in time 100+ years.
