I'll be in a cabin in cascade,( 6 miles west of colorado springs) from the 20th through the 28th. There is snow on the ground now, the ONE thing we were hoping to see while we were there. Does it look lie there will be snow on the ground still by then? Or will it all melt? What about the ski areas? Thanks guys!

It could melt. It's going to be in the 40s Monday - Friday next week. It's supposed to snow on Friday according to the weather channel website, but given it will be sunny all weekend then in the 40's, it's hard to say for sure.

Snow was predicted for that area for last night, here is the forcast. You should be fine with their elevation. You will have no problem seeing snow on the 20th, either there or at a ski resort as they are all open and have more then enough at the moment.

In case you have not been there:

The town of Cascade was established in 1886. The town was named for the many waterfalls in the area. The Cascade Post Office opened on August 16, 1887. In 1889, the Pikes Peak carriage road was constructed from Cascade to the top of Pikes Peak. Fountain Creek flows off the slopes of Pikes Peak into the town, and turns southeast into a canyon. US 24 also runs through the town, paralleling Fountain Creek through the canyon until the exit for Manitou Springs. Be sure to check out Manitou Springs - great little historic town and some great buildings. The elevation is 7, 379 feet, Denver is 5280 and we had a few inches this week and due to the cold, you can still see it.
