I think it is the more normal cycle. What I remember growing up, 2000-2013 was my normal, which was significantly drier. I would remember crunchy brown grass in July, and like 60 day stretches of no moisture in the fall and winter. I wouldn't be surprised if a few of those get thrown in. These last few wet years I always felt like I really needed to enjoy them because they were unusually wet compared to my reference frame of normal.

Yes! I keep thinking I'm not remembering it right, but it was like that. Nice sunny mornings to early afternoons, then rain ... then the sun came out again. It also didn't get quite as hot either (as I remember). Could be wrong about that.

Winters were different too ... I remember lots of sunny hiking in Jan. and Feb. But I could be remembering wrong about that as well.

The weather reports sure have blown it lately. All of them called for heavy T-storms yesterday and today, and so far all we got was about 10 minutes of drizzling last night. Compare this to previous days, when they called for partly cloudy with 20% chance of storms, and we got heavy rain.

Well, I got a quick heavy rain yesterday, light rain all night last night and another quick heavy rain this afternoon down here. Glad that nothing was severe! Rainfall of about 1.5-2 inches.

We got 5 minutes of light rain here today, and that was it. It was actually sunny at times. I'm pretty sure this zip code is the opposite of the rest of the city. If they call for 10% chance of rain, you can be sure we will get a severe thunderstorm (a few weeks ago, they called for 0% chance of rain, and we had some of the worst rain I've seen). This zip code has its own weather.

I was wondering the same thing. What a poopy "summer." So far every weekend get together or outdoors adventure have been canceled due to weather. Cos has nice falls and winters...not the place to be for summer.

Personally, I love summer here because of the thunderstorms (and yes, it is a regular occurrence here in Springs). However, I do not like the weather we have had lately, in which everything is just gray and gloomy without any interesting thunderstorms to speak of. The weather reports called for severe storms the last 3-4 days, but instead we got this annoying heavy moisture/drizzling with no severe weather at all. To me, that is boring...

Long range forecast is calling for hot and dry.

I've always felt that people visit Colorado for the winter but stay for the spring/summer. I would like the thunderstorms to come and clear out, like it used to. Ah well!

It has been a great summer - I haven't had to cancel any weekend plans - you have just have to time them right - it doesn't rain all day, and all the activities can still go on. This beats drought and fire any day, hands down. Don't be so quick to complain because the alternative here is much much worse.

Getting slammed with rain/hail tonight in Security/Widefield/Fountain. I think there will be damage to see out there tomorrow. I didn't see this in the forecast.
