I may have jury duty in the Springs tomorrow, and the storm coming in right now makes it even lovelier. Has anyone run into this? Is there a decreased chance of being called in? It might be really difficult to get to the Springs from Monument tomorrow morning.

Thanks. I'n not trying to get out of jury duty, just being realistic.

JB

Not sure what the procedure is. I was summoned for mid-January and I asked to have it moved to June for this very reason since I didn't want to end up on a jury and not be able to make it in. (I actually LIKE having jury duty).

Call the jury clerk and explain. They probably have a procedure for out-of-town jurors facing weather complications.

Sometimes the county closes for business or has delays which could affect reporting, otherwise you would report as usual. If you call the number on your jury duty ticket it will let you know of any delays/changes.

Yes, that's correct. Thanks. The recorded message indicated that our reporting time was delayed 2 hours and that we should call again in the morning since the weather was supposed to be a problem. I ended up going in at 10 and being released at 11:30, since by the time they had us checked in, it was too late for most of the scheduled trials. Only 20 people out of the hundreds reporting were actually called.

Same time next year?
