The consignment gallery paid off for sure. We found a dining set (still looking for a bedroom set). we got the most amazing deal on the set too. Paid less than 1/10th of the original retail value and the original owner never even once sat in it, plus the owner of the store, Judy, was very very helpful and polite. We'll definitely be going back there to see what they have in the future.

KOOL! Yep, that was my experience with Sam and Judy, though I was a seller.

BTW: One of the local TV stations did a story on consignment shops last night and they went to two places:
- The "broadmoor" one that does clothing. Wow, she keeps 60%! Ouch! (Sam and Judy only keep 40%).
- The one called "I Saw It First"

I wonder if that local TV station saw THIS thread and decided to do a story?

s/Mike

Ha! Talk about irony

We went into I saw it First and they did have some nice things, but far higher prices. I think they service more of the Broadmoor area sellers, yet the items for sale in there were on par with what the Consignment Gallery had. I just couldn't justify buying something used for what they were asking. We went into another consignment store slightly further north (I'll be fair and not mention the name) but it was basically like a junk store. They were packed floor to ceiling with useless little things and old beat up stuff, yet they are listed as a furniture consignment store. Needless to say, I won't waste my time there again.

Judy couldn't have been a better person to work with. I only spoke with her husband once but she has gone out of her way to help us. We're a military family and just got to Ft Carson so our living arrangements are still somewhat a mess and she's been just wonderful on working out our pickup with us. I could go on and on about her because the whole fiasco took about a week, with buying this dining set, but I'll just say that I plan on shopping her store more in the future, if for nothing else, the fact that she went above and beyond for us. Once we get fully moved into our new home we're going to be selling our couches with her so that I don't have to deal with people traipsing through our house to look at them.

Now, if you know of any good jewelry consignment shops, I'm all ears. We need to sell a brand new diamond wedding set that we've had for some time now that's just collecting dust at this point
