What's with the rash in home invasions lately? I've heard of no less that two of these in less than a week.

I did a search on the matter and saw a lot of threads in different states, but the only mention I've seen of the matter in Colorado Springs was here. She referenced this site; Colorado Springs Police Department Blotter; Here's others; KOAA (http://www.koaa.com/aaaa_top_stories/x1589517301/Home-invasion-being-investigating-in-Colorado-Springs - broken link) and City News (http://www.springsgov.com/NewsResults.asp?NewsID=3177 - broken link).

This seems like scary stuff. Makes you want to keep the doors locked and guns loaded. Somebody busts into my home and they're gonna get a 230 grain .44 diameter cap in their you-know-what. You break into my home, it's "Make My Day" time.

I know times are tough and all, but what's the cause? Gang initiation, drugs?

I expect to hear about more of this type of thing, as things get worse. Financial desperation, hunger, drug addiction....any will drive people to commit violent acts on each other.

It'd be a good time to lay low and not draw attention to oneself, and probably brush up on some CCQ & shooting techniques.

Personally, I prefer a shotgun & 00 buckshot for the house. Too risky to be letting bullets fly around, especially with neighbors in such close proximity.

Colorado does have the Castle Doctrine for us to stand behind if bad things happen.

Yeah, I've got the 870 Express Mag handy too. Just the sound of that pump action would have a punk wetting himself, but it's a shame it has to come to that.

But I would love to hear more of this; "Home owners' shooting intruders' dead with no criminal charges filed on the rise, story at 5:00".

I'm watching the news this morning and I see that young girl say they stuck a gun to her face. What's going on here?

I'd say it's the same old story,...Someone wanting something for nothing!!
They just find it more "acceptable" during hard times! They are still criminals with a criminal mind!
It is sad and scary, all rolled into one!

More worthless types out of work with time to hang out and learn your schedule so they know when you're away.

Close Quarters Combat....my bad....

basically, if you can crush the opponent's larynx, you'll be good to go if things go hand to hand.

I have an 870 supermag express myself Mcgowdog. I have the full Tapco riot/pistol grip conversion on mine as well. On top of the sound, it looks mean as hell.

Anyone who comes through my door will be met with 3 1/2 inch turkey mags. They won't make it out alive.

Truthfully though, i've been wanting a Saiga 12. It's a semi automatic 12 gauge that looks like an Ak-47. Has a 10 round magazine. One mean looking gun. And it fires as fast as you can pull the trigger.

I'd love to meet someone in my living room with one of these.

Remember, it's a 12 Gauge!~
