Would you invest your entire pay check or just the part that makes sense so that you can have a better future? That is the same for a city. If you look at some of the best cities in the country they have become that because its residents invested in their cities future. I will never understand why people in Colorado Springs do not want to invest in their cities future. I am glad that we don't have that mentality in Pueblo.

That's BS, Pueblo boy. We invest heavily in our future...particularly and especially in education. In my district (Colorado D-20) we fund our Colorado Springs schools at levels considerably higher than you do down there...that's a far more important investment than some paid lobby group. As a result, way more of our kids have a lot more to look forward to than sticking around to work in a foundry or a water bottling plant. I'll stack our test scores against yours any day.

And it shows...heck, lots of our high school kids can already write a lot better than some graduates of expensive California graduate schools.

That was a little off topic.

To get back on topic I was talking about investing in your cities future. Do you guys do that?

Josseppie, I would honestly like to see this great downtown you talk of in Pueblo. Where is it at again? This whole Pueblo rules stuff is getting old. So does anyone else beside Josseppie see this awesome downtown he talking about? I haven't found it yet! What downtown they have is pretty but it doesn't look like a big glimmer of hope to me. I can't wait until 5 years from now to see this big beautiful Metro area that he says is coming to show up.lol

I hope so because I did like the few months I stayed down there but I definitely couldn't find much to do downtown. But this is just my opinion.

The problem is that government just never gets enough money. They spend, spend, spend and then complain they don't have enough. How 'bout some responsible budgeting and spending first. Once the taxpayer knows that government is in check, you'll see more dollars flowing. The taxpayers spoke here and sent a clear message to the city.

Nobody is holding back others who want to send in more money to the city or county...those who are for 1A are free to give above and beyond.

I agree government can spend to much money if allowed but at the same time tax payers can invest to little in their city. There has to be a happy medium where you spend money to invest in your city that will attract employers and make it a better place for everyone.

Colorado Springs is on one extreme and Boulder is the other extreme. Pueblo seems like we have found a good mix. To be honost I would like us to expand our convention center and Riverwalk to the baseball stadium, but at least we have them. Now once the economy picks back up and growth returns we can make them better.

The taxpayer decides if not enough is invested...not the government. The Colorado Springs taxpayers ultimately had their say and said enough is enough.

Everybody acts as if Colorado Springs would have been a boom city if 1A passed...I along with most of the voters raised the B.S. flag.

As far as Pueblo, I say good for you and those who live there. Just not for me...

I dont think Colorado Springs would of been a boom town, but it would of created more jobs for you educated workforce. With out them, they will just leave and follow the jobs.

Thank you! We are very proud of what we have done down here! Why I am so exicted about Pueblo's future.
