Has anyone heard if in 2010 they are still going to develop the west face of Pikes Peak into a ski resort? I was watching a Feb 2008 u tube video about it. Thanks, RP

Ya know, I totally forgot about that until you asked. I honestly haven't heard anything more about in quite a while. I'll have to do some digging to find out.

Hmm...I really can't find to much on it beyond Feb - Apr 2008. This is the only recent thing I could find. It basically says that a contract to buy the land has been made, but that's it. I don't see it happening by 2010 for sure....if at all.

The credit crunch and real estate slowdown may crimp their plans. Here are a few links I've found, but nothing current.

Default Pikes Peak Ski Area Development

The owner of the land was just in my office two day ago...The deal between the land owner and the developer fell thru, however the land is currently for sale, and the owner is looking for a buyer or investor. SKT

Thanks for your interest in our project!

Still in the planning stages but rapidly gaining momentum now, The Resort at Pikes Peak will be America's newest and greenest ski resort. It will be located on the west side of Pikes Peak off of Hwy 67 near The Craggs and Meuller State Park, 10 miles north of Cripple Creek.

We soon will be kicking off a "Name a Ski Run" contest. Please visit our website at [ mod edit: this info belongs in your contact info in your profile settings ] and tell all your friends to do the same! Should you wish to contact us directly, feel free to do so.

A lot of people are working hard to make sure it does happen, Fullback32. Still, we need continued support from the community. Our research shows a high community approval rating, but now we need this thing to "go viral," and that's why I'm encouraging you to get everyone you can to visit our website, facebook, and twitter pages to get involved. We need you! Let's do this together!

We're passionate about being good stewards of America's Mountain. The ultimate goal is to build a self-sustaining, energy-generating facility completely off the energy grid. It will be a wonderful addition to the area, bringing year-round family recreational opportunities along with much-needed jobs and tax revenue.
