springs is far from vibrant. i made the move from e. iowa to springs. i preferred boring crapids (cedar rapids) compared to c springs if it wasn't for denver nearby. crapids is a very safe place with lower housing costs and half the people with just the same amount of amenities as c springs and far less congestion. i lived in springs for five years and was happy to get out. the town is depressing. everyone is so content, yet the place is so bland. everything is so average. maybe it's the right spot for raising a family, but i just couldn't help from going insane. i am now relocated to denver/boulder. yes i spend more than i did in springs and have to deal with more congestion, but really it is nothing compared to many other large cities and i am far happier in denver.

one neighborhood in denver has way more stuff then the entire springs area. i like how denver has people with interests that go and take their craft really seriously. Artisan coffee roasters, artisan bakeries; it isn't hard to find unique, high quality, local stuff. granted some may consider this "hipster", but i enjoy being surrounded with people that take their craft seriously. springs on the other hand is driven by 10 or so walmarts. also denver has the whole diverse immigrant scene (very many ethnic groups) where you goto a place full of people speaking their native language yet still able to converse in english. in short, denver is awesome as it is full of many niche communities and as an outsider, every community is welcoming to people that are interested. isn't having many diverse unique communities within what makes a city vibrant? there seems to be a non-americanized restaurant for every ethnic community in denver. i tried hard in springs to support local stuff, but in reality there was not enough hardcore support for those places, and as a result, the places frankly sucked compared to their denver equivalents.
