utah is beautiful because of its uniqueness.. its like a million apocalypses happened in one spot. driving up and down the "painted "hills facing diagonal and nearly vertical is wierd.. makes you feel like you're in a funhouse not sure which way is up

I remember the drive through Bryce Canyon down to Kanab, over to Paige, AZ, and to the Grand Canyon. It is such spectacular country!!! There is an awesome 50 km hike through Paria Canyon that is like no other place on Earth! You basically hike from Kanab to Lees Ferry on the Colorado! It is is Grand Staircase (I hiked it before it became the Natl. Mon.) National Monument. WOW!!!!! Ahhhh....I am itching for spring and the desert hiking I love so much.

My fondest memory of this drive is being a teen with my mom and having to listen to Dr. Laura because it was the only station that would come in.

That's a long drive to be stuck with Dr Laura. At least you had the company of your mom. I would have probably opted for silence after 2 minutes of Dr Laura.

I know which radio station that is, too! 740AM out of Price, Utah. Probably the only station you can get when you are off the high desert and dropping to the wolf alignment marker and then down the hill to Green River. Been down through that way dozens of times. Amazing stretch of land, that part of Utah.
