My fiancee and I are looking at moving to Colorado in a year or so. I will be attending the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley for graduate studies, and he is a commercial pilot so being close to Denver would be helpful. I would like to look at areas between the two cities, as Denver is a bit too big and Greeley I have heard nearly exclusive negativity about. We will not be capable of living extravagantly, but we do not want to live in a dorm-style town full of frat boys, either. Any suggestions???

There are several towns between Greeley and Denver that are very nice and affordable. I would look hard at Brighton, Platteville, and even fort Lupton. Platteville and Fort Lupton are both in weld county so they will be cheaper then Brighton, but all three towns are affordable, clean, and relativly safe. All three are smaller bedroom communities, with many younger families living there.

Platteville is the furthest away from the Denver metro area, but is about a 30 minute drive to DIA, while Brighton is closer to Denver but a 40 minute drive to Greeley.

Perhaps Monument or Castle Rock would be a nice fit.
