Its amazing how local news stations have changed the way we view cities since the 1950's.

The fact that we have the debate as to which city KOAA broadcast their news says a lot when in reality that should not matter. It seems like for a city to be of any prominence in a region they need to have at least one local news station.

Well, it's still a Colorado Springs TV station.

Pueblo, as I've said in the past, has nothing newsworthy that warrants its own TV station.

Just give me a simple live non-satellited radio broadcast of current weather/traffic every weekday morning. I can't even catch the Jim Rome show on 1350 because they had to take away the one good Sports Station we had-allbeit satellited most of the time!

You're making me focus in on Pueblo too much these days and it's ticking me off all over again what a gov't cheese-eatin', caine and wheelchair store-front-on-3rd-and-Main havin' No-Trick-Pony town that it is.

Flashforward to Josse: Well I'm not moving anytime soon either.

LOL sorry I cant help it. I am not just acting on here to start a debate, I really do think Pueblo is not only the best city in Colorado but America and the world. There is no place I would rather live.

Ole James Jarman (http://www.koaa.com/station_info_biographies/x982466913 - broken link) was seen at a 7-11 in Pueblo today at about noon. Granted, he probably does a bit of work down here, I know people (family) that see him and others on a regular basis down here. But they don't broadcast down here!

I'm gonna start taking pictures of these folks just so I don't have to go Wiki again.

740 KVOR seems to be trying to be the front range station. I tend to listen to them at times and at the top of the hour they say KVOR Colorado Springs - Pueblo - Denver.

That's kinda funny considering their day pattern puts a signal in Denver that's too weak to get inside buildings and their night pattern doesn't even reach Boulder.

I can see why they say Pueblo, I am sure they get a few listeners from down here but why do you think they say Denver? The status of it maybe?

I imagine they have some listeners in the southern burbs but yeah it's all about placement. Just some useless trivia for you...when you listen to a legal ID (top of the hour ID) or see one on a TV screen, the first city mentioned is ALWAYS by law the City of License.

I just checked the last set of Arbitron ratings. Granted I only have access to the 12+ ratings (which is all listeners aged 12 and above) and KVOR didn't even show up in Denver. They were in 2nd place overall in the Springs and 23rd in the Pueblo ratings.
