Looking for advice on prairie dogs. We have them on our lot and I've tried just burying their holes each time I find one but they just dig them out again. Now I have to take other measures to get rid of them. There are too many houses around to just shoot so what's next. Do I poison them and with what. I wish I could just chase them but I don't that will work. Have any of you experienced this before. In Missouri we shot our pest. What do you do here.

get a connector for you tailpipe, attach some garden hose, put it down the hole, and let your vehicle idle for about 5min in each hole. Then bury the hole, flag it as 'done' and move to the next one.

RIP, little furry scourge....no muss, no fuss.

The holes that are opened up again get done again. You need to stay on top of it before the little rodents get the upper hand.

Don't ask/don't tell.

A high-quality precision air rifle like a Feinwerkbau makes for some fun prairie dog exterminatin'.

A .22 with a silencer works, too, but that takes a certain kind of adventurous personality...

Rodenator is another fun option. But that makes loud scary noises and would draw unwanted attention if you're trying to pretend you're a Black Ops operative on the hunt for cave-dwelling Jihadists...

Why not just leave them alone?

If you REALLY need them gone, give Animal Control a call.

Animal Control won't do chit about the prairie rats. I prefer an air gun kinda like Bob's. Mine is a one-pump and almost has the power of a .22 short.

Sounds like an effective trick. Wonder if it works on golfer holes too.

To anyone who says "just leave them alone"...when I heard that BLR was conducting some extermination, I felt the same way...until I went on to read that they are pretty serious vectors for bubonic plague. They are generally infested with plague fleas. If your cat or dog gets a hold of one, they can give you the plague.

Squirrels and rabbits here can also carry these fleas and this disease.

Nasty.
