Some real cool pics McGowdog! It's been a few years since I have been to Bents Fort but I recommend it for a visit. A lot of history there!

Appreciate the pics on Rocky Ford and Fowler as well!

Thanks for the pics, McGowdog!! Bent's Fort is on my short list of places to visit. Need to make it to the Sand Creek National Historical Site as well.

Thanks for checking them out!

I should have split the pics out into different threads. This thread is killing my computer.

I hear the Sand Creek Massacre site and the Bent's Old Fort site have free admittance this weekend. Can anybody confirm?

I'd be happy to split them out into separate threads. Will get to it later today.

EDIT: Done. Now there are 5 separate threads, see the INDEX of threads for links.

McGowdog....great post. The National Historic Sites (Massacre and Bent's) are only free selected weekends throughout the summer. Those weekends are this coming weekend (June 20, 21), then July 18,19 and August 15, 16.

Other times there is a fee ($3.00 tops...see Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site - Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service)
for more information.

If anyone is thinking about coming out this way go to www.lajuntaevents.com and www.visitlajunta.net for some other ideas.
