I have zero against Denny's. I'm just sayin'. There are lots of things that are very, very South Carolinian. Shrimp and grits. Mustard-based bbq sauce. Beach music. (And before we all start getting nitpicky, I'm aware that several of these things spill into other states. My point remains.)

Denny's? Not so much.

Al Amir does have excellent pizza. I also like Z Pizza for organic/healthy pizza, which is still excellent.

Last time we ate at Al Amir the owner was trying to convince us that his pizza was the best in Columbia (and definitely better than Za's), so my daughter got one. I tried it and thought it was, "meh...".
