In downtown and I really wonder if anything ever will top the Capital Center building. Amazing that it's still the states tallest. It's so "short."
You think it could use some signage up top over Gervais Street to dress it up? I have always hated the placement of the signage. When it had SouthTrust's signage front and center up top was when it looked its best.
It says "BB&T" on top. The building could use a pressure wash though...
I know it says BB&T. The signage placement is awful. They've always been Johnnies on the spot with the pressure-washing. They'll probably show up tomorrow.
Well you werent clear when you said signage. I figured you were talking about on the actual building.
Are you talking about street signs?
I asked if you thought "it" (the building) could use signage up top, over Gervais Street (in other words the top of the front of the building). The front of the building faces Gervais Street. It is a plain edifice anyway, but when looking at the front of it, I have thought from day one that it needed signage on the front up top. SouthTrust took over the naming rights for a while, and across the top of the building on the front, they put a centered SouthTrust sign. There's nothing there now, and the absence of a sign on the front adds to the blandness.

Bland is the best description. It's tall, but has no distinguishing features. A sign would help.

Okay that makes more sense. Yeah I agree. It's a very 80's building and like someone else stand, doesn't really stand out other than being the tallest. They could also maybe replace the windows.
Yes I know this sounds like I'm nitpicking, but I'm not. Just something I noticed.
