Good article in The State. There's a second brewery opening up on Shop Rd as well as a growler store on Rosewood.

It the spot where Gamestop used to be next to the former Dano's, there is a for rent/lease sign. Nothing has been touched to indicate that it has been rented at all as of last week. Disappointing to say the least.

River Rat Brewery just got their license to operate a brewery from the state today. They should be brewing soon and hope to have beers to sample by the end of January.

Made in Lexington County: Officials seek to recruit California brewery looking to expand eastward | ColaDaily.com

Not quite the same as a local brewery, but this would be a nice addition to the craft beer scene if they were able to pull it off.
